Surfing is kind of a rare sports to pick up in Malaysia. Some even ask if there is surfing in Malaysia. I remember once i took a bus ride from Kuala Lumpur to Cherating during the 90's with couple of my surf mate Mark, Kanesh, Hafiz, etc etc..when we were trying to bring our surfboard into the bus, the bus conductor ask us "Bang, kenapa bawak sampan dalam bus? Tak boleh masuk la...naik bus lain laaa!!!!" We were laughing our heart out as he thought our surfboards as a Wooden Kayak!! But we manage to sweet talk with the conductor and finally he gave up and let us in the bus. So now here we are after many years....many have left the life of surfing and some is still hanging on like me...to live the life of surfing. I try to dedicate this page about surfing in Malaysia.....to provide more info about surfing Malaysia and for those who want to learn and pick up surfing....or for those who left surfing many years back...welcome back SURFERS!!!

i encountered a ticket counter personnel at aiport asked me whether i have a golf club in my surfboard coffin bag? WTF...??? haha.. laughed my head off.. classic..

ReplyDeleteSurfing in KL just 1 story..in Johor also got many-many spot..inz begun mayb round 90th..Tg Balau n Desaru just some of the spot..only a few local n sporean belasah the wave..Johor got 2 season time for surfing...Nov til march and Mei til July(xbesar lah tp leh main sometimes)..for more info visit our website
